JEFFERSON - Albert Leonard Hardy, 93, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 6, 2013.
Mr. Hardy was born in Banks County, the son of the late Miles Leonard and Bessie Jane Bennett Hardy. He was retired from the Jefferson Mills, where he was a supervisor, and was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Jefferson. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Dlean Ledford Hardy; seven brothers, Clyde, Roy, Ralph, Marvin, Talmadge, Robert, and Charles; and three sisters, Mamie, Nannie, and Eva.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and John Davis, Smyrna, Sandra and Tom Venable, Jefferson, and Vickie and David Flood, Buford; a son, Al Hardy, Jefferson; grandchildren, Jill Abernathy (Brad), Scott Davis, Kerri Davis, Erika Radek, and Stephanie Miller; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 9, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Swayne Cochran officiating. The burial will follow at the Jackson Memorial Park with Johnny Davis, Tom Venable, David Flood, Scott Davis, Brad Abernathy, and Gauge Futter honored as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
