COLBERT - Jimmy Rogers Coker, 68, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013, at the St. Mary's Hospice House in Bogart.
He was born in Royston on April 16, 1945, the son of the late L.T. Coker and Mary King Coker. He was a sprinkler fitter, a former deputy sheriff for the Madison County Police Department, as well as a former EMT, and a member of the Bible Baptist Church, where he was a former Sunday School Teacher. Mr. Coker was a United States Marine, where he served during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Brooks Coker, Colbert; son, Jeremy Coker, Colbert; and a sister, Janette Saylors, Washington.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 28, at the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Garrett and Chaplain Bill Hayes officiating. Interment was in the Danielsville Memorial Gardens.
