Gloria Hannah Smith, 62, of Royston, died Thursday, October 16, 2008, at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.
She was born on October 13, 1946, in Clarke County, the daughter of the late William Bill and Jeanette Gidley Hannah. She was a retired school teacher and a member of the Royston United Methodist Church, a member of the Friends of the Royston Library, and the Georgia Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include her husband, Walter R. “Scoot” Smith, Royston; sons, Adam Smith and Andrew Smith, Royston; and a sister, Lucy Copas, Franklin Springs.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 18, at 2 p.m., at the Royston United Methodist Church in Royston. The family will receive friends Friday, October 17, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Royston Elementary or Friends of the Royston Library.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, is in charge of arrangements.
