DANIELSVILLE - James Douglas Gordon passed away Friday, September 27, 2013 at the Silverleaf Alzheimers Care.
He was the son of the late Chester and Grace Freeman Gordon. He worked at Madison County High School until his retirement and was the first custodian to have an annual dedicated in his honor. He was part owner of G. & M. Polled Herefords. He enjoyed going to the farm expo at Moultrie every year and went to all of the cow shows that his farm participated in. Mr. Gordon was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Larry McGinnis.
Survivors include a sister, Frances G. McGinnis; brother, Marvin Gordon; niece, Angie McGinnis; three nephews, Richard McGinnis, John and Brandi Gordon and Lee Gordon; and great-niece and nephew, Taylor and Brayden Gordon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, at the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Willard Crider, Jeff Wells and Dayton Logan officiating. Interment will follow in the Jones Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Danielsville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2. The family will be at the home of Angie McGinnis at 3111 Rock Quarry Rd., Danielsville, GA.
