John Stacy Nix, 38, of Pendergrass, died Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of Johnny Nix of Jackson County and Patsy Elizabeth Griffin of Commerce. He was a maintenance supervisor for MAR JAC, Inc., and was a veteran, having served in the United States Marines.
Survivors in addition to his parents, include his wife, Fran Villanueva Nix, Pendergrass; sons, Edward Nix, Steven Nix, Austin Nix, John Stacy Nix Jr., Richard Nix and Kristoff Nix, all of Jackson County; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jason and Kelly Blalock, Danielsville, Jerome and Holly Blalock, Commerce, and Cody and Brandy Griffin, Jackson County.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 18, at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. Reggie Vaughn and Kenneth Howard officiating. Burial will be in the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, October 17, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
