BALDWIN - Eva Johnson Green, 98, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013.
Born in Munson, Fla. on August 2, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Rev. A.C. Johnson and Virginia Richardson Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon T. Green, along with eight brothers and sisters. Mrs. Green was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Green resided at The Oaks at Scenic View Assisted Living in Baldwin. She worked as administrative assistant to the Chief of Surgical Service for the Veterans Administration Medical Center of Memphis, Tenn. for 40 years. She was a talented pianist and enjoyed playing for church groups, friends and family. Since moving to Georgia, she attended the Nacoochee Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in law, Carole and Bill Jackson, Homer, and Sandra and Jim Keif, Ocala, Fla.; grandchildren, Barth and Amy Jackson, Athens, Jennifer and Jack Brinson, Raleigh, N.C., Cathy Nelson, Dayton, Ohio, Jeff and Holly McCaskill, Hernando, Miss.; great-grandchildren, Casey and Kevin Nelson, Griffin and Jessica Jackson, Myles, Georgie and Sophie McCaskill, and Jackson and Charlie Queen.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, October 2, at 3 p.m. at the Nacoochee Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Robert Prim officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 on Tuesday, October 1.
