MADISON – Lona Ruth Stewart, 85, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013.
She was the daughter of the late George and Maude Clack Adams. During her life, she attended church at New Life Fellowship in Statham. She loved to cook, garden, and spend time outdoors. Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by five children; and three sisters.
Survivors include four sons, Chester Hill, Statham, Joe Hill, Winder, Clarence (Vickie) Hill, Greensboro, and O.B. Hill, Greensboro; two daughters, Janie (Hugh) Wilson, Madison, and Stacey Stewart, Winder; two brothers, Clint Adams, Winder, and Luke Adams, Calhoun, S.C.; 18 grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, September 27, from 9 to 11 a.m., prior to the service. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home Friday, September 27, at 11 a.m. with Ministers Fred and Sherry White officiating. The interment will be at Bethabra Baptist Church Cemetery in Winder.
