Dorothy Ann Polman Dupont, born on August 4, 1937, died on Monday, September 16, 2013.
She was known for her kindness, her work with special needs students, and her work with the poor in Haite and Central America. Dorothy attended Holy Name Catholic School and then Kimberly High School, where she graduated in 1955. In her later years, she received her paraeducator certification to teach special needs children.
Dorothy and Tom had many adventures, traveling and enjoying many new places, events, foods and people. Their greatest joy was visiting with their family and friends at their home in Commerce. Family and friends gathered on the back porch in the beautiful Georgia weather to celebrate their lives and share their thoughts. Their friends and neighbors, Keith and Annette Patrick, spent many hours with the Duponts playing cards and sharing stories and life events.
Dorothy emulated strength. She was a strong woman that often held her family steadfast. She provided unconditional love and understanding to her family, lifting them up with her wonderful spirit and faith. All will sorely miss Ms. Dorothy, a class lady, loved ones stated.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas F. Dupont, Sr.; four children; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Jean Marie Dupont Reese (Randy) and their children, Rochelle, April, and Randy; Jon Joseph Dupont (Julie) and their children, Ashley and Laura; Thomas Francis Dupont, Jr. (Shiela) and their children, Brent and Kimberly; Daniel Thomas Dupont (Deanna) and their children, Sean, Nicholas, and Daniel; and a sister, Theresa Polman Neilson.
