MAYSVILLE - Obe Linton Langston Jr., 86, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013.
He was born in Commerce, the son of the late Obe Linton Langston Sr. and Eunice Reed Langston. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Pacific Fleet during World War II. Mr. Langston was a retired delivery route supervisor for numerous companies and was a member of the Apple Valley Baptist Church in Commerce. Mr. Langston was preceded in death by sons, Thomas Langston and Raymond Langston; and sister, Dorothy Hawks.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Laura Belle Langston, Maysville; daughters, Phyllis (Daryl) Paul, Friendswood, Texas, Edna (Johnnie) Perkins, Pearland, Texas, and Christine Bray, Clarkesville; sons, Lamar (Billie) Langston, Maysville, David (Kelly) Langston, Kennesaw, Bruce (Lynn) Langston, Sandusky, Ohio; sister, Hautell Gulley, Warner Robbins; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 13, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home. The visitation will be held on Thursday, September 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
