Minnie Lucille Seagraves Mize, 88, of Gainesville, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at the Oaks at Limestone, following an extended illness.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Love Thirsten and Lucy Burroughs Seagraves. She was retired from New Holland Mill and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. Mrs. Mize was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Mize; grandson, Christopher Mize; one sister; and five brothers.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ellen and Leroy Brown, Gainesville, Louise and Doug Helton, Lula, and Laura and Robert Rider, Hartwell; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard L. and Betty Mize, Homer, Terry Lee and Brenda Mize, Lula, and Ross and Cheryl Mize, Cleveland; grandchildren, Gina Reed, Jeff Rider, Joey Rider, Nina Robinson, Richard L. Mize Jr., Richelle Mize, Michael Mize, Matthew Mize, Chris Burke, Jenny Massey, Patricia Vahey, Melissa Williams and Cathey Ferguson; sister, Ruth Pittman, Nicholson; brothers, Jimmy Seagraves, Commerce, and Felton Seagraves, Milledgeville; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 23, in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Pittman and Chris Burke officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, was in charge of arrangements.
