ROYSTON – Jesse James “Jim” Collins, 49, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013.
He was born in Cairo on September 14, 1963, the son of the late Fred B. and Minnie Lee Spence Collins. He was in banking and a member of the Providence Baptist Church in Whigham.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Hendrix Collins, Royston; brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl Collins, Asheville, N.C., Olin Collins, Tallahassee, Fla., Ted (Claudette) Collins, Whigham, and Roger (Betsey) Collins, Arnoldsville; sisters and brother-in-law, Denver (David) Collins Hooten, Albany, and Hilda Lockhart, Valley, Ala.; mother-in-law, Floy Mae Hendrix, Royston; brothers-in-law and spouses, Frank (Ellen) Hendrix, Royston, Roger (Debra) Hendrix, Royston, and Clayton Hendrix, Royston; sister-in-law and husband, Christina (Dean) Duncan, Royston; a number of nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet, Sgt. Owen Collins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 12, at 3 p.m., at the Mill Shoal Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Westbrook officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, September 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. The family is at the home of Mrs. Floy Hendrix, 2200 Dove Drake Rd., Royston, GA 30662.
