BRASELTON - Lula Ann Turner, 54, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013.
She was the daughter of Rosie Elliott and the late Clyde Elliott. Ann was diagnosed with stage-four breast cancer 21 years ago, and fought a long battle, with never having the joy of it going into remission. Due to her long-term battle, she and her doctors have made many breakthroughs in cancer research and treatment and because of her record breaking survival, many others will not have to suffer and lives will be saved. Ann was a true soldier, with more strength and valor than most. If you knew her, you loved her, she will be missed, loved ones stated.
Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband, Chris Turner; sons, Gary Smith (Jaime), Alpharetta, and Christopher Turner, Braselton; daughter, Laura Greathouse (Jason), Atlanta; brothers, Conway Elliott, Gainesville, and Tom Elliott (Tammy), Gainesville; sister, Icie Johnson, Gainesville; grandchildren, Ashley and Mariah; and a great-granddaughter, Gracie.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 7, at Northeast Church, in Braselton. The Revs. Russell Harbin and Jack Chalmers officiated. Interment was Sunday, September 8, at StraightWay Baptist Church in Gainesville.
Lawson Funeral Home, Hoschton, was in charge of arrangements.
