John Cooper

John Clifton Cooper Sr., 56, of Homer, died Monday, October 13, 2008, at his residence following an extended illness.

He was the son of the late John E. Cooper and Margaret Jamison. Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by a sister, Penny Gearing.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Cooper, Homer; daughters and sons-in-law, Christy and Michael Osborn, Homer, and Deana and Seth Bolton, Maysville; sons and daughter-in-law, Jason and Kristin Cooper, Moody, Ala., and John C. Cooper Jr., Commerce; a brother, Chris Cooper, Washington; sisters, Patricia Brandt, Willis, Texas, Susan Adams, Conroe, Texas, Debbie Day, Texas, and Sherry Hall, Bastrop, Texas; and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 16, at 2 p.m., at the Homer Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Crabbe officiating. Burial will be in the Banks County Memorial Gardens. The family is at the residence and will receive friends in the funeral home Wednesday, October 15, from 6 to 9 p.m.
