FLOWERY BRANCH - Curtis John Crane, 85, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at his residence with his family following an extended illness.
He was born March 1, 1928 in Flowery Branch, the son of the late John and Myrtle Crane. He was a member of Union Baptist Church and retired from Ryder Rental Trucking, where he worked in maintenance. Mr. Crane was preceded in death by his daughter, Jenny Couch; grandson, Wayne Couch; brothers, Wilburn Crane, Kenneth Crane and Glenydon Crane; and sister, Jessie Lee Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Inez Ellis Crane, Flowery Branch; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Mike Sewell, Gainesville; sons, Ricky Crane and Glenn Crane, both of Flowery Branch; son-in-law, Ronny Couch, Young Harris; grandchildren, DeAnna and Daniel Browne, Gainesville, Angela and Eddie Gallegher, State of Washington, and Tyler Crane, Flowery Branch; great-granddaughter, Emily Browne; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday August 14, from the chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. The Revs. Paul Wade and Jerry Gill will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
