Louise Martin, 92, of Lula, died Friday, October 10, 2008.
She was born on February 12, 1916, in Elyria, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ida Laundon and David Wesley Keeler. She was a registered nurse and worked in surgery her entire nursing career, retiring in 1981 from Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Fla. She and her husband were active members of the First Methodist Church in Clearwater, Fla., until they moved to Lula in 2003 to be near their son, David, and his family. They then became members of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Gainesville.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Durward Fletcher Martin; sons, David Vernon and Jeffrey Scott Martin and their spouses; and grandchildren, Lauren, Kathryn, Rachel and Joshua.
Memorial services were held Monday, October 13, at the St. Paul United Methodist Church on Washington Street in Gainesville. Burial will be in Clearwater, Fla., on Wednesday, October 15.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Northeast Georgia Medical Center Hospice.
