COMMERCE - Lois Howington King, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, 93, went to heaven on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at her residence and was very much loved by family.
She was born in Commerce, the daughter of the late Newell and Callie Weldon Howington. She was a member of Madison Street Baptist Church and was retired from Waters Furniture. Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, Wiseman King; sons, Paul King and Otis King; and grandson, Christopher Todd King.
Survivors include a son, Odell King, Ila; sister, Rosanell Henry, Daytona, Fla.; a special nephew and niece, Ronnie and Cathy Howington, Clarkesville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Revs. David Harbin and Swayne Carlan officiating. Interment will follow in Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, July 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
