ELBERTON - Kathryn Smith Andrews, 82, wife of the late Edgar Jackson Andrews, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospice House with her grandson, Trey, at her side.
She was born in Oglethorpe County, August 21, 1930, the daughter of the late Sam and Molly Saxon Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Falling Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Andrews was preceded in death by siblings, Ray Smith and Onzelle Tiller.
Survivors include two sons, Dean Andrews and his wife Jackie, Comer and Don Andrews and his wife Connie, Elberton; brothers, Fred Smith and Sam Joe Smith, both of Elberton; grandchildren, Jon Andrews, Shannon Ruff and her husband Greg, Keith Andrews and his wife Kelly, Kandice Chandler and her husband Robert, and Trey Andrews; nine great-grandchildren; special nephew, Dennis Tiller; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services celebrating her life were held Saturday, June 29, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Revs. Dwight Morgan and Jack McVeigh officiating. Interment followed in Forest Hills Memorial Park with sons and grandsons serving as pallbearers.
