Ernestine Maney Blackburn Vandiver, 80, of the Hollingsworth Community, Alto, died Friday, October 10, 2008, at her residence following a brief illness.
Born in Banks County on September 26, 1928, she was the daughter of the late William McKinley and Pauline Chambers Maney. She was employed as a seamstress with Carwood Manufacturing with 46 years of dedicated service and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her grandchildren, loved ones stated. Mrs. Vandiver was preceded in death by a daughter, Juanita Blackburn Allen; and brothers, Coil, Edgar, Bob, J.C. and Tommy Maney.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Blackburn, Cornelia; son-in-law, James Douglas Allen, Cornelia; sisters, Mary Edna Chandler, Alto, and Francis Ellen Chambers, Hollingsworth; grandchildren, Nathan and Eric Allen, both of Cornelia; great-grandchildren, Ethan Umbehant and Kaylob and Austin Allen.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 13, at Harmony Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Vandiver officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, was in charge of arrangements.
