LOGANVILLE – Julius “J.W.” W. Chandler, 82, of Loganville passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013.
He was a member of Park Place Baptist Church in Snellville, and was a retired material specialist with General Motors, Doraville Plant. He was an avid golfer, bowler, and loved his John Deere Gator. Mr. Chandler was a United States Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict on the U.S.S. Hickox DD673. He played the guitar, acoustic and electric, the banjo, and he loved to sing and dance.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Nina Jane Bolton Chandler, Loganville; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Chandler and Kent Osborne, Suwanee, Debbie Chandler and Benjamin H. Brown, Anchorage, Alaska; sister and brother-in-law: Jeanette and Robert D. Ward, Loganville; grandchildren, Cameron Brown, Chase Osborne, Chandler Osborne, and Alex Osborne; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, in the chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home, Snellville, with the Rev. William Campbell, Mr. Norris Brown, and Mrs. Martha Chandler Parker officiating. Burial will be at Isaac Chandler Cemetery in Commerce. The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m., Monday, June 10, at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, Snellville.
