WINDER - William Howard Wheeler, Sr., died Sunday, June 2, 2013.
Born in Lawrenceville, he later moved to Winder and graduated from the University of Georgia. He worked with Business Equipment Center of Atlanta. Mr. Wheeler was preceded in death by his late wives, Addie Rhea Wallace Wheeler and Emma Lou Lindler Wheeler. He was a member of the Winder Lions Club, Barrow Historical Society, First Baptist Church of Winder, and a Korean War veteran.
Survivors include a son, the Rev. William Howard Wheeler, Jr. (Melanie), Pottsville, Ark.; daughters, Sharon Wheeler McClung (Ron), Haddock, and Lynne Wheeler Cleveland (Tom), Cumming; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held Tuesday, June 4, at 11 a.m. at Haddock Baptist Church in Haddock, Georgia, with Don McClung and the Rev. Howard Wheeler officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. at the Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lawrenceville. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Winder or the church of your choice.
