Lewis Cowart

Lewis Russell Cowart, 58, of Hull, died Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at his residence.

Born in Clarke County on January 1, 1950, he was the son of Essie Ruth Whitehead Cowart of Comer and the late J.C. Cowart. He was a retired fireman, having worked with the Clarke County Fire Department, and was a member of the New Bethel Congregational Holiness Church.

Survivors in addition to his mother, include a daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Jackson Kilgore, Bogart; grandchildren, Ashley and Alana Kilgore; a brother, Nelson Cowart, Hull; and sisters, Susan Huff, Hull, and Robin Burroughs, Colbert.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Clay Huff officiating. Burial will be in the Hull Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, October 10, from 6 to 8 p.m.
