William Lewis “Pete” Norris, 77, of Jefferson, died Wednesday, October 8, 2008.
He was born on May 21, 1931, in Jackson County, the son of the late Jessie Marshall Curtis and Sara Cofield Norris. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation and was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church. Mr. Norris was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice “Tootsie” Norris.
Survivors include a son, Dennis William Norris, Pendergrass; step-sons, Stanley Russell Gaddis, Nicholson, Phillip Payne Gaddis, Jefferson; step-daughters, Patricia Alice Pulliam, Royston, and Rita Wilson, Gainesville; grandchildren, Erick Norris, Holly Gaddis, Ashley and Phillip Gaddis, Nina Teet, Jacob and Molly Pulliam, Joseph Wilson and Candace Third; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 10, at 2 p.m., in the Bethany United Methodist Church with the Rev. Johnny Ray officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
