WINDER – Lois McCain Maddox, 98, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013.
She was a member of Union Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Joy Sunday school class and the WMU. She worked for The Barrow and R&R Manufacturing plants as a seamstress for many years and retired from Holsenbeck Elementary School as a cook in the lunchroom, where she was famous for her yeast rolls. Mrs. Maddox was preceded in death her parents, John Henry and Margaret Vera Simonton McCain; and her husband, Robert Marvin Maddox.
Survivors include a son, Clyde Maddox (Lavern), Winder; two daughters, Carolyn Ferguson (Jim), Snellville, and Elaine Maddox, Winder; brother, Wilson McCain, Statham; sister, Louise Hardigree, Winder; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. from Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, at Union Baptist Church in Winder with the Rev. Brian Flagler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
