Hoyt Lester Bolton, 81, of Athens, formerly of Bethlehem, died Friday, October 3, 2008.
Born in Barrow County, he was the son of the late Verner H. and Lillie Mae Adams Bolton and was a member of Carter Hill Christian Church. He was a retired brick mason and was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Bolton was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Austin Bolton.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Rhonda Bolton, Athens; daughters and sons-in-law, Samantha and Ernest Treadwell and Cheyrl and Bruce Tolbert, all of Monroe; seven children; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 5, at Smith Memory Chapel with the Revs. Ned Davis, Wayne Durden and Joey Grizzell officiating. Burial was in Carter Hill Christian Church cemetery.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, was in charge of arrangements.
