Alvin Kimsey Wood, 62, of Danielsville, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at Emory Hospital.
Born in Madison County, he was the son of the late William Esco and Leila Pruitt Wood. He was a member of Galilee Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Church and was a retired poultry farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Glinda Faye Minish Wood, Danielsville; a son, Todd Wood, Danielsville; daughters, Angie Hunter and Stacey Wilson, both of Danielsville; brothers, Gene Wood and Frank Wood, both of Nicholson, Chick Wood and Bill Wood, both of Commerce, Dillard Wood, Colbert, and Danny Wood, Winterville; sisters, Eleanor Faye Wilbanks, Gladys Palmer and Mildred Evans, all of Nicholson, Patsy Wilbanks, Maysville, and Johnnie Sue Wallace, Danielsville; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 9, at 3 p.m., at Galilee Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Church with the Revs. Larry Dyer and Marty Smith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, October 8, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
