MONROE – Henrietta “Rita” Morgan Pettis, 72, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013.
She was the daughter of the late Henry Lee Morgan and Dora Murphy Stinchcomb. She was a devoted member of the Cornerstone Christian Church in Statham. She loved her family dearly, and enjoyed reading, crocheting, and her pets, loved ones stated. Mrs. Pettis was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Wade Fullerton; and her spouse, Charles J. Pettis.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Lee (Tammy) Pettis, Lawrenceville, and Jerry Wayne (Marina) Pettis, Monroe; one daughter, Rita Faye Pettis, Winder; two brothers; two sisters; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 17, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Hal Tapp officiating. Burial will be at Hill Haven Memory Gardens in Monroe. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, May 16, from 6 to 9 p.m.
