GAINESVILLE - Fredrick Vinson Lovejoy, 57, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2013.
He was born in Lilburn, W.Va., the son of the late Thomas Eugene Lovejoy and Rosetta Spears Lovejoy of Ranger, W.Va. He worked as a carpenter with Bill Harris Construction Company for many years. Mr. Lovejoy attended Revival Baptist Church in Pendergrass, and previously at the Pinegrove Methodist Church in Midkiff, W.Va. He was preceded in death by brothers, Tommy Lovejoy, Larry Lovejoy, and Ira Shannon Lovejoy; sister, Sheila Lovejoy; and nephew, Michael Harris.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife of 38 years, Arlene Scragg Lovejoy; sons, Steven, Jason, and Brandon Lovejoy; daughters-in-law, Jennifer Lovejoy, Terri Lovejoy, and Rosa Lovejoy; mother-in-law, Madeline Wellman, Midkiff, W.Va.; sisters, Joyce Simpkins and Victoria Horn; brothers, Terry Lovejoy, Charles Lovejoy, Bruce Lovejoy, and Virgil Lovejoy; grandchildren, Hunter, Rhiannon, Brandon Jr., Cheyenne, Adelyn Lovejoy, Hannah LaValley, Taylor and Kyle Freeman; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Saturday April 20, at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home Chapel, 6670 McClellan Street, West Hamlin, W.Va. 25571 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Lovejoy officiating. Interment will follow at Wellman-Bellomy Cemetery on Nine Mile Road. The family will receive friends Friday April 19, from 6 to 9 at the McGhee-Handley Funeral Home.
