WINDER - Nell Williams Bethel, 98, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013.
She was the daughter of the late Harrison Lee and Jessie Lyle Elrod. During her life she worked as assistant vice-president for R&R Manufacturing and was a member of the board of directors. She was active in the Methodist Church since she was 12 years old and held every position a woman can in the church family. Mrs. Bethel was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Bethel; her first husband, Claude B. “Shug” Williams; daughter, Ann Savage; and brother, Joe Elrod.
Survivors include a son, George Williams, Bethlehem; four grandchildren, Kathy Camaran, Ronanne Brown, George Williams Jr., and Vicki Luna; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 9, at 2 p.m., at the Winder First United Methodist Church in Winder with the Rev. Terry Tippens and Todd McCain officiating. Burial following the service will be at Barrow Memorial Gardens in Winder. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, April 8, from 6 to 9 p.m.
