GAINESVILLE - Garry Cook, 71, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, following an extended illness.
He was born in Rockmart, June 10, 1941, the son of the late Clarence and Nell Cook. He was a member of Chestnut Mountain Church, an avid sports lover, and a retired insurance agent from Liberty National. Mr. Cook was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Blanchard.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnne Cook, Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Michele Cook, Flowery Branch; son, Geoffrey Cook, Braselton; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and David Hunt, Lula, and Pam and Michael Whisnant, Monroe; daughter, Marlette Mohone, Covington; grandchildren, Danah Hunt, Kaitlin Cook, Ashley Cook, Connor Cook, Tiffany Harris, and Chad Whisnant; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Harley Harris; brother, Larry Cook, Rome; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, April 8, from the chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. The Rev. Jeff Benefield will officiate.
