DANIELSVILLE - Naovie Virginia Porterfield Phillips, 89, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at the Hill Haven Nursing Home in Commerce.
She was born in Madison County on May 12, 1923, the daughter of the late George F. Porterfield and Tressie David Brown Porterfield. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Haven Holiness Church. Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband, Loney T. Phillips; great-granddaughter, Sophie Kate Howell; brothers, I.G., Carvin, and Doyle Porterfield; and a sister, Iva Lee Long.
Survivors include her children and spouses, Brenda (David) Walls, Hull, Linda (Robert) Miller, Danielsville, Timothy (Sandra) Phillips, Hull, Phebe (Rickey) Smith, Danielsville, and Tonda (Kevin) Rowe, Danielsville; grandchildren, Clay Miller, Michelle Walls Baker, Dana Miller Howell, Phillip Smith, Katie Phillips Futral, Tressie Phillips Alexander, Molly Naovie Smith, Jennie Phillips Dyer, and Jessie Rowe Slusher; great-grandchildren, Brady and Laley Miller, Luke and Lily Howell, Kaylee and Levi Baker, Jarrett and Jackson Alexander.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, at the New Haven Holiness Church with the Revs. Scott Alexander and Cody Dyer officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Burial will follow in the New Haven Holiness Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 27. The family is at the home of Tonda and Kevin Rowe, 2925 Moons Grove Church Rd., Danielsville, GA 30633.
