Dessie Mae Griffin, 80, of Maysville, died Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at New Horizons North Nursing Home, following an extended illness.
She was born on December 10, 1927, in Hall County, the daughter of the late William and Kellie Evans Campbell. She was a homemaker and was Baptist. Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by husbands, Odis Grogan and Harold Griffin; daughter, Kathy Satterfield; grandson, John Grogan; sister, Ella Jane Campbell; and brothers, Earnest Campbell, Roy Campbell, and Howard Campbell.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, David and Alene Grogan, Maysville, Walter Grogan and family, Las Vegas, Nev.; granddaughters, Tammy Crumley, Harlee Grogan and Hanna Grogan; grandson, Scott Griffin; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Christine Davis and Mary Pittman, both of Gainesville, Inez McEllhannon, Monroe, and Delores Welborn, Gillsville; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 3, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
