Willard Coy Tunnell Sr., 71, of Jefferson, died Wednesday, October 1, 2008.
He was born on January 22, 1937, in Oneonta, Ala., the son of the late Willard Benton and Althea Wooten Tunnell. He was a supervisor with the Jones Manufacturing Company and was a member of the Crooked Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Tunnell was preceded in death by a daughter, Teressa Franklin.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Parks Tunnell, Jefferson; son, Willard Coy Tunnell Jr., Lawrenceville; daughters, Pam Veal, Jefferson, Carol Tullis, Homer, Annette Maynard, Commerce; brother, Ricky Tunnell, Winder; sister, Margie Brooks, Jackson; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 3, at 1 p.m., in the Crooked Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Miles and the Rev. Ed Raines officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
