COMER - Mable Harris Carithers, 76, died Saturday, February 2, 2013.
A native of Greenville, S.C., she was the daughter of the late John William and Eula Mae Chastain Harris and wife of the late William A. Carithers. She was a longtime employee of General Time Corp. and retired from Sam's Club. She was a member of Meadow Baptist Church. Mable was a loving Christian woman and enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Steve Roberts and Tammy and Jimmy Carter, all of Comer; grandchildren, Tyler (Chelsea) Roberts, Texas, Katie (Jonathan) Wentworth, Athens, Christianna Carter, Comer; and great-grandchildren, Emma and Elle Roberts.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 5, at 3 p.m. at Meadow Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Sarna officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Monday, February 4, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
