Sara Isabel “Issie” Corley Oxford, 92, of Elberton, died Thursday, May 22, 2008.
She was born in DeKalb County, the daughter of the late James Malcolm and Martha Elizabeth Weed Corley. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Lithonia and was a homemaker. Mrs. Oxford was preceded in death by her husband, Lenwood V. Oxford.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty J. Reagin, Carlton; son, Terry L. Oxford, Crystal Lake, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 24, at The Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. David Burt officiating. Burial was in Carlton City Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers and Marshall King was an honorary pallbearer.
