CONYERS - James V. Cartledge, 79, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013, at At-Home Hospice in Conyers.
He was the son of the late Joseph H. and Lola May (Chapman) Cartledge. Mr. Cartledge was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Keith Cartledge; and brother, Groves Cartledge.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Juanita Cartledge, Conyers; children and their spouses, Frankie and Jack King, Lilburn, Jimmy and Susan Cartledge, Conyers, Tim and Tammy Cartledge, Oxford, Elsie and Greg Lightfoot, Crown Point, Ind.; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brothers, Willard Cartledge, Commerce, Paul Cartledge, Nicholson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home in Covington, with the Rev. Ken Stokes officiating. Interment will follow in Green Meadow Memorial Gardens in Conyers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, January 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
