WINDER – Trudi Travis Dalton, 54, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013.
She was the daughter of the late Lon Paul and Louise Green Travis. She was a member of the Winder First United Methodist Church and was a registered nurse at DeKalb Medical Center, where she worked for two years. Throughout her career, she worked as a nurse at Dr. Huff’s office for 15 years, a Morgan County school nurse for eight years, and a supervisor for the Athens Red Cross for five years. She was very artistic and enjoyed making pottery, cross-stitching, embroidering, felting, shopping at thrift stores, playing Scrabble, and spending time with her family. She was also an avid reader.
Trudi was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, caregiver, and friend.
Survivors include her husband, Curtis Edward Dalton; son, David (Cassie) Dalton, Winder; sister, Tina (Greg) Kiker, Smith Lake, Ala.; two grandchildren, Reece and Riley Dalton, Winder; and a nephew, Jason (Natalia) Travis, Canton.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 12, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Tippins officiating. Burial will follow the service at Barrow Memorial Gardens in Winder. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, January 11, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Flowers are accepted, but donations to the American Red Cross of Athens are preferred.
