Gwendolyn Harrison (1-7-13)

CARLTON - Gwendolyn Delphine Johnson Harrison, 85, died Monday, January 7, 2013.

A lifelong resident of Oglethorpe County, she was the daughter of the late J.R. and Eula Smith Johnson. Mrs. Harrison was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. "Spud" Harrison; and a sister, Julia Johnson (Pat) Paul. Mrs. Harrison was a loving daughter, devoted wife and mother, and will be deeply missed. She was a member of the Glade UMC and was very active in the Glade community.

Survivors include a son, Robert R. (Karen) Harrison; grandchildren, Mary Beth (Matthew) Heaton and David Harrison; great-grandchild, Georgia Claire Heaton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 10, at 2 p.m. at the Glade UMC with the Rev. David Burt officiating. Burial will follow at the Carlton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, at the funeral home.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the Glade UMC building fund.
