Clater Wilford Gill, 82, of Royston, died Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at the Cobb Memorial Hospital in Royston.
He was born in Kokomo, Ind., on September 19, 1926, and was Baptist. He was a retired veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II, and was also a member of the American Legion in Lexington.
Survivors include a son, Michael Cannon, Monroe; daughters, Michelle Rogers and Melanie Phillips, both of Oglethorpe County; brother, Max Gill, Indiana; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 25, at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Bailey officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Royston. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, October 1, from 6 to 8 p.m
