COMMERCE - Olga B. Lacey, 95, died Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Peachtree Plantation.
She was born on August 2, 1917, in Struthers, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Mary Bolash. She was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served as a Navy WAVE Spec T during World War II. Mrs. Lacey retired from Roper Pump Company. For many years, she also wrote a popular column, Around Town with Olga Lacey, for the Jackson Herald. She also served for many years on the Commerce Library Board, and was a member of the Four Seasons Garden Club. Mrs. Lacey was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Allen Lacey, Sr.; and a daughter, Barbara Lacey.
Survivors include a daughter, Kris Harper, Fort Myers, Fla.; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Ken Turk, Starr, S.C., Nicky and Wayne Wilbanks, Commerce, and Patty and Doug Griffeth, Bethlehem; son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Kelly Lacey, Commerce; grandchildren, Dylan and Lisa Wilbanks, Commerce, Jesse and Amanda Wilbanks, Braselton, Lacey Griffeth, Atlanta, Douglas Griffeth, Canton, Allison Griffeth, Bethlehem, and Taylor Lacey and Hannah Lacey, both of Commerce; great-grandson, Lincoln Wilbanks, Braselton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Little-Ward Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Commerce Library Foundation, 2319 North Elm St., Commerce, GA 30529.
