Carolyn Denton (12-27-12)

MAYSVILLE - Carolyn P. (Mrs. Carol) Denton, 56, died Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

She was born in New Jersey, the daughter of Irene Cowart Pace of Commerce and the late Horace Pace. Mrs. Denton was a retired schoolteacher and a member of Community Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Tommy Dorsey Denton, Maysville; daughters, Kelly Denton Reynolds, Homer, and Heather Denton Moss, Demorest; brothers, David and John Pace, both of Commerce; sisters, Cathy Bruce, Lula, and Barbara King, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; grandchildren, Kacey Reynolds, Makayla Moss, and Matthew Moss, Jr.

Funeral service will be Sunday, December 30, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. David Harbin officiating with the interment following at Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, December 29, from 6 to 8 p.m.
