Jerry Daves (12-21-12)

COMMERCE - Jerry Austin Daves, 67, passed away Friday, December 21, 2012, at the Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born in Clark County, he was the son of the late Guy Robert and Alma Owensby Daves. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Daves and Johnny Daves.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Howington Daves, Commerce; children, Carol Daves Cook, Commerce, Vicki Daves Smith, Danielsville, Jerry Bradley Daves, Commerce, and Chad Austin Daves, Commerce; sisters, Maryann Thomas, Commerce, Janice Williamson, Winterville, and Amy Brown, Commerce; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, December 23, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, December 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the residence located at 869 State St. in Commerce.
