Martha Carey

Martha Sue Randall Carey, 78, of Royston, died Sunday, May 25, 2008, at her residence.

She was born on December 9, 1929, the daughter of the late Dewey Drew and Gertrude Haley Randall. She was a seamstress and member of the Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mrs. Carey was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Daron Carey; a grandson, Jess Carey; and step-grandson, Nick Carey.

Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Gwen Carey Perkins, Royston, Wanda and Jackson Hart, Danielsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Nelson and Kim Carey and Stanley and Patricia Carey, all of Carnesville, Byron Carey, Royston; sisters, Revonda Strickland and Jean Peeples, both of Royston, Kay Adams and Joan Randall, both of Hartwell; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 27, at Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Revs. Bert Synan and Tony Moon officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
