COMMERCE - David Leon Walker, 73, known as Leon to close family and friends, passed on to reunite with his parents, Lawrence and Neoma (Cook) Walker, and his sister, Diana L. (Walker) Koch, on Sunday, December 16, 2012.
Born December 7, 1939, in Cobden, Ill., he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and was loved dearly by his family and friends.
He retired after 30 years of employment at Norfolk Southern Railway. Prior to relocating to Commerce almost 12 years ago, he primarily lived in Fenton, Mo. and Virginia Beach, Va. He was of the Christian denomination, was a member of Mended Hearts in Commerce, and was a computer enthusiast.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Doris (Fulkerson) Walker; three children, Debra (Walker) Burns (Jeffrey), David Walker (Sharon), and Donna Walker; two grandsons, Benjamin and Matthew Walker from Atlanta; and niece Christi (Whitworth) Dorrington (Ben), Collinsville, Ill.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, WEST, Bogart, is in charge of arrangements.
