Gladys Poole (12-18-12)

BALDWIN – Gladys Dalton Poole, 85, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Habersham Medical Center.

She was born January 14, 1927, in Banks County, the daughter of the late Archie Bishop and Mary Jane Brock Dalton. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Poole; sisters, Ethel Morris and Agnes Poole; and brothers, Archie Lee Dalton, Tom E. Dalton, and Wilton Dalton. Mrs. Poole was a retired seamstress from Carwood Manufacturing Company with 42 years of service. She enjoyed cooking pies to give away, singing, and working in her garden. Mrs. Poole was a member of Line Baptist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Edna Gary, Cornelia; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 20, at Line Baptist Church with the Revs. Garry Garrison, Harold Ledford, and Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel.
