Wilda Cheek Wade, 90, of Commerce, died Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at Grandview Nursing Home.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Ollie and Lillian Hix Cheek. She and her late husband, Aubrey Wallace Wade, had owned and operated several retail businesses in the Commerce area. Two of those businesses were Wade’s Grocery and Burger Kreem Restaurant.
Survivors include a sister, Queenola Dunn, Clawson, Mich.; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Revs. Bill Manus and Jeff Fitzpatrick officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, September 26, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
