WINTERVILLE – Cathryn Blackburn, 84, died Monday, December 10, 2012.
A native of Banks County, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Verdie Lee Young Whitfield. She was retired from Thomas Textile.
Survivors include sons, Larry Watson, Winterville, and Gene Watson, Colbert; daughters, Wanda Hollis, Jefferson, Brenda Puntervolt, Madison; stepdaughter, Faith Blackburn, Nicholson; stepson, Michael Blackburn, Nicholson; brothers, Donald Whitfield, Hull, and Billy Joe Whitfield, Batesville; special friend, Kenneth Jordan, Winterville; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 13, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home with the Rev. Phil Wages officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, December 12, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Bridges Funeral Home, Athens, is in charge of arrangements.

Such a sweet lady. From when I was a little girl to the time I worked with Kathryn at Thomas Textile, she was always kind to me.
