COMMERCE – Emmett Sanford Duren, 90, died Thursday, December 6, 2012.

He had 43 years of service with the City of Atlanta.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Kesler Duren, Commerce; children, Jones (Charlotte) Garmon, Jefferson, Beverly (Jerry) Scott, Commerce, and Betty Jean (Ernest) Edwards, Commerce; brothers, Fred Duren, Auburn, and D.C. Duren, Lawrenceville; sisters, Lillian Cannon, Winder, and Peggie Prince, Clermont; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friend, Ricky Cain.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 8, at 2 p.m., from the Hudson River Baptist Church with the Rev. Troy Herbert officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, December 7, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
