WINDER – Essie Mae Bell, 91, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012.
She was retired from Winder-Barrow Hospital. She attended church at Bethabra Baptist Church in Hoschton. Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her husband, John Johnson Bell; two brothers, Gartrell and Eugene Martin; and a sister, Beatrice Johnson.
Survivors include a son, Phillip “Wayne” Bell, Statham; three daughters, Lenis Blackstock, Winder, Janet Fielder, Danielsville, and Marie Knight, Toccoa; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 30, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Linwood Smith officiating. Burial will be at Bethabra Baptist Church Cemetery in Hoschton. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 29, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
