GILLSVILLE - Myron Allen Harrison won his battle on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 and is in his Heavenly Home.
He was the son of the late Ira K. and Mozelle Hartley Harrison. Mr. Harrison was preceded in death by sisters, Evelyn Harrison Cain and Iris Lee Kytle; and special brothers-in-law, Calvin Brewster, Russell Murphy, Johnnie Wiley, and Willard Ravan.
Myron was born September 26, 1942, in Jackson County. He attended North Hall High School and North Georgia Tech School. He served with the Georgia National Guard, Det-A, Company A 1/121 Infantry from 1965-1971 receiving an honorable discharge. Myron's work talents were a licensed electrician, licensed refrigeration technician, licensed construction contractor and poultry/cattle farmer. Myron was an active member of Unity Christian Church. He served on many ministries, including children's ministry, trustee, buildings & grounds, deacon and elder.
Myron will be remembered for his love for Christ, the church, family and fellowman. He touched many lives and was loved for his honesty, caring and fun nature.
Myron will be greatly missed by his family, wife, Barbara Reece Harrison; sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Alicia Harrison, and Jason and Kelly Harrison; grandchildren, Reece Allen Harrison, Chason Neal Harrison, Caleb Michael Harrison, Seth Riley Harrison, Jayce Myron Harrison, James Conley Harrison and Kenley Grace Harrison; siblings, Rhuna Ravan, Doug Harrison, Keith Harrison, Ruth Chapman, and Rachel Pless.
Funeral services to celebrate Myron's life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, November 30, at Mason and Ward Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Mike Thompson, Clack Stubbs, and Verlin Reece will officiate. Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 29, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
