Randy Patman, 58, of Athens, died Sunday, September 21, 2008.
A native of Jackson County, he was the son of Wilda Hix Patman of Commerce and the late J.W. Patman. He retired from the United States Air Force and then worked at Athens Regional Medical Center in the dietary department. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where he served on the usher board and sang in the male choir.
Survivors in addition to his mother, include children, Shannon Head and her husband, Pastor Samuel Head Jr., Winterville, and Randy Darius Patman, Jr., Los Angeles, Calif.; brother, Tommy Patman, Detroit, Mich.; sisters, Martha Cornish and Brenda Harper, both of Athens, and Carol Tarpkins, Jackson County; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 25, at 12 p.m., at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Abraham Mosley officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park.
Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, is in charge of arrangements.
